Project Description
Parsons has been supplying engineering and related services to this major producer of paper consumer products since 1984. These services have provided significant engineering support for the plant's continuous improvement program, which has assisted them in maintaining their competitiveness. As their engineering supplier, Parsons continues to operate as an extension of this client's own engineering department in completing both capital and maintenance projects. The nature of these services covers front-end engineering, project execution engineering and design and construction/start-up support. The variety of projects is wide and embraces all disciplines. They include:
- Paper machine rebuilds and modifications
- Installation of paper converting production lines
- Modifications to existing converting machines, pack loops and conveyors, etc.
- Additions to, and modifications of, site facilities, HVAC, waste treatment and power distribution
- HMI projects requiring computer programming of relevant software
- Process safety and environmental projects
- Building additions and modifications
This client embraced the principles of a "Total Quality Approach" almost 20 years ago, and Parsons has played a significant role in helping them deliver projects with "excellence" and enviable business results. Most of these projects were implemented on a "blitz" pace schedule and within a tightly controlled budget.
