Project Description
Parsons work includes upgrading equipment and systems for air traffic control towers, air route traffic control centers, runway landing systems, and navigational systems for the Directional Airspace System.
Parsons provides engineering, construction, and installation support on the Federal Aviation Administration's capital investment plan modernization, as well as equipment maintenance, repair, and relocation. Tasks include site selection, engineering, systems engineering, construction, equipment installation and test, fire-life safety, environmental consulting, drafting, and other services. We are providing a variety of services for other electronic systems for the control of air traffic nationwide. Systems include radios, radar, computers, local and wide area networks, controller displays and associated transmission and communication devices. Other systems include flight data input/output, rapid deployment voice switch, enhanced terminal voice switch, and digital voice recorder system.
Nationwide facilities include 450 airports and military installations, 20 Air Route Traffic Control Centers, and many remote sites from mountaintop radars to radio antennas, as well as office buildings, and research and development facilities. Much of our work is in occupied facilities supporting critical ongoing operations where safety is paramount.
Parsons is installing fiber optic cable and support electronics for airfield lighting control systems, controller display consoles in airport traffic control towers, and other electronic systems and equipment to support ongoing operations.
