Project Description
The project focus is repairing damaged facilities by the Northridge earthquake. The earthquake recovery effort includes more than 800 projects that range from "paint and patch" to rebuilding structures that were damaged beyond repair. The county grouped the 200 damaged structures into three main classifications: health care facilities; courts and justice facilities; and general facilities, which include museums, libraries, administrative offices, parking structures, and parks.
Parsons maintains the master schedule and cost control system. We established a process for completing projects in the most cost-efficient manner. Parsons assists the county in managing, coordinating, and evaluating all key project activities to ensure optimum scope and configuration control, as well as cost and schedule compliance. Scope includes:
- Preparing policies and procedures for quality assurance/quality control project designs
- Preparing technical specifications
- Preparing contracting strategies
- Monitoring construction contractor performance
Our documentation of costs and scope has maximized the reimbursement that the client has received from the various funding agencies. We ensure that the project is performed and documented to the standards of these government agencies so that the County can make a full financial recovery.
