Parsons provides bench- and pilot-scale testing programs to analyze treatment processes in terms of water quality and system capacity. Parsons deploys mobile laboratory facilities staffed with teams of trained field technicians as required.

Wastewater systems include advanced biological and physical and chemical tertiary processes. Our extensive experience develops efficient, affordable solutions for municipal treatability challenges. After identifying specific treatment requirements and evaluating applicable technology, Parsons creates a client-unique solution for each project, addressing discharge limitations, industrial wastewater contributions, odor control, and facility site restrictions. Parsons sludge management practices reduce sludge disposal costs by employing washwater reclamation, sludge thickening, and effective dewatering systems.

Water Treatment facilities designed by Parsons range from massive 550-mgd water treatment plants to plants as small as 0.5 mgd serving remote communities.

Our designs use both new and established technologies. These include ozone, chlorine, and chloramine disinfection; chemical addition, mixing and flocculation; sedimentation; filtration; and activated carbon, aeration, and chemical treatments.
