Parsons Judges The Technovation Girls Challenge
Our team recently stepped up to show our love of STEM initiatives by taking part in the Technovation Girls Challenge as part of our Gives Back program. When we learned of the chance to be judges for this amazing initiative, our employees eagerly jumped in.
Technovation Girls empowers girls between the ages of 8 and 18 to become tech entrepreneurs and leaders. Guided by volunteer mentors, these talented girls work in teams, developing mobile apps and AI solutions to tackle real-world problems. Our incredible team of dedicated volunteers spent many hours reviewing team pitches and offering valuable feedback to participants from all corners of the globe. With nearly 100 judges involved, we collectively volunteered a whopping 370 hours!
Our employees were amazed by the outstanding quality and depth of the girls’ projects. What’s even more exciting is that technical expertise wasn’t a requirement for participation. The submissions covered a wide range of topics, from an app that alerts people about potential earthquakes and provides resources, to a global platform connecting volunteers and organizations. In early June, our employees will have the opportunity to judge the final phase of the challenge.
I was absolutely blown away by these girls and their incredible ideas! You could see the passion and effort they poured into their projects. I reviewed six submissions and wished I had time for more. Count me in for the next round!” — Lindsey, Parsons Judge for Technovation
