PASADENA, CA (November 8, 2018) – Parsons is pleased to announce the creation of a new role, Chief Development Officer.
“Parsons is experiencing strong growth and is transforming the solutions we deliver to our customers, which places us in the position to capitalize on the strengths and experiences of a top-caliber leadership team to support our continued strong performance and commitment to our customers,” said Parsons Chairman and CEO Chuck Harrington. “This, combined with other recently announced changes, will positively impact achieving our 3-year plan for continued strong sales and margin rate growth.”
In alignment with these goals, Mike Johnson has been appointed to the position of Vice Chairman and Chief Development Officer responsible for assuring the company’s largest client and partner relationships have broad executive access. Johnson will be enhancing Parsons’ relationship network and will be focused on growth and client needs. In this role, Johnson, who most recently served as President of Parsons Infrastructure, will report to Harrington.
In this new role, Johnson will create and oversee the development of a business relationship ecosystem, facilitating the delivery of comprehensive and scalable solutions in anticipation of client needs driven by the disruptive technology that pervades all markets. This includes partnering with our market-leading customers as their needs, challenges, and opportunities evolve.
“Mike is a well-respected industry leader with deep subject matter expertise and networking skills, which will help him leverage our existing relationships to create additional new relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders,” said Harrington. “His role as Chief Development Officer underscores the importance of bringing our relationship ecosystem to the highest levels of the entire organization and positions Parsons for many more decades of continued success.”
Johnson will also focus on opening sales and partner channels for the Intelligent NETworks® (iNET) advanced transportation management system, data analytics, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, and artificial intelligence in more than 1,000 target cities. He will capitalize on his detailed knowledge of Integrated Delivery as a Service (IDeaaS™) and drive end-to-end solutions in alternative delivery markets. His development expertise and deep relationships in this space make Johnson’s new role an ideal fit.
“I am energized to focus on expanding Parsons’ strategic customer, partner, and supplier relationships across the company,” said Johnson. “This is a critical time for innovation, and my new role sends a strong message about our senior-level commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our current and future customers.”
Johnson has more than 28 years of progressive experience at Parsons, where he led the creation of the company’s connected cities solutions, Platforms as a Service, and the critical components of its next-generation digital business strategy. Johnson is a member of several professional organizations, including the Energy Security Leadership Council (ESLC), SAFE’s Autonomous Vehicles Task Force, and the Construction Industry Round Table, and he’s served as a board member of Enterprise Florida.
