What do I need to bring?
A working laptop or desktop and any peripherals you require. If you would like to attend and do not have access to a computer, please email us and we will do our very best to help accommodate you.
What operating system do you recommend?
Many of the challenges are OS agnostic but may be easier in a particular OS. Some of the challenges may require a specific OS for execution such as Linux or Windows. This is a personal preference and left to the player to choose.
What applications do I need to solve the challenges?
Giving the exact tools would ruin the challenge and excitement of finding the “right tool(s) for the job”. Consider coming with your favorite text editor, programming languages, IDE(s), reverse engineering tools, network analysis tools, and image/media editors installed. You will very likely discover and download new tools to solve challenges along the way!
Should I use a VM?
We recommend running a virtual machine running the OS of your choice, but this is not required.
Do you provide any VMs with prepared tools?
No. This is purposely left up to the player.
