This course prepares students to conduct Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) investigations using a Debian-based Linux distribution. Students will learn essential Linux skills such as command-line interface, file system management, permission management, automation, package management, and security, while also gaining hands-on experience with OSINT-specific tools and techniques. The course covers installing and managing open-source investigation tools from various Internet repositories, including PyPi, Github, and Gitlab, as well as customizing tool installations to meet specific operational needs or troubleshoot malfunctioning installations. Additionally, students will learn how to install containerized software such as Snaps, Flatpaks, and Docker containers, providing isolated environments for software applications.
