The Kali Linux course prepares students to conduct OSINT investigations using a Debian-based Linux distribution. We train on both Kali and Ubuntu to highlight the utility of many of Kali’s built-in investigation tools. This is also an excellent way to introduce students to the Linux operating system, as we cover all the basics of Linux command line usage, including permission management and shell scripting to automate routine tasks. Students will earn how to locate and install additional tools from internet repositories including PyPi, Github, and Gitlab. They will also learn how to read script files and customize their tool installation to their needs or troubleshoot a malfunctioning installation. Students will also learn how to install containerized software such as Snaps, Flatpaks, and Docker containers.

The AOIT² course is an operational research approach utilizing publicly available information (PAI) with the intent of gathering and disseminating Entities of Interest (EOI) information to address specific mission requirements.
AOIT² is a ten-day in-person course that provides the skills necessary to conduct Identity Threat Tradecraft (Identification of EOI) process research in an open-source environment.
A five-day course is available for prior CASO graduates from Blackhorse, a Parsons Company. The CASO certification must be earned within the year prior to taking the expedited AOIT² course and have proficiency in open-source research. A five-day course is expedited using PAI research techniques learned in prior CASO courses, with the intent of identifying EOI and providing actionable recommendations based on an Identity Threat Tradecraft methodology process. This version is tailored for those who are using CASO techniques regularly as the methodologies taught in CASO are not covered in the expedited version.

Our CTF events are designed to simulate real-world scenarios and offer a practical and interactive approach to honing the skills necessary for gathering, analyzing, and exploiting information prom publicly available information (PAI) sources. The practical approach to learning cultivates the critical thinking creativity, and adaptability necessary to success int he rapidly evolving world of PAI.
PAI research covers possibly the largest and most diverse problem set of any other related discipline. The field covers topics such as social media, website enumeration, and corporate and threat research.
Our CTF platform is based on the one developed by CTFd and is widely used in a variety of organizations. This serves as an interactive test where students are challenges to find real world answers to the questions we ask. The challenges are created with certain “flags” that serve as the answers to these challenges and students must use the techniques taught throughout the course to find them. We currently use this style CTF in our CASE, AD2, DWI, VOTC and COSMO courses. More than a thousand alumni have participated in their event and have described it as an invaluable way to test their knowledge.
